Hello!

I am Steve Mekoudja

A Computer Engineer, a Poet, a Singer, a Producer and a Cook. In a single word, I am an Artist.

Bio en français

I am among those who think that we all have a mission on earth, that the universe placed in each of us a seed that is supposed to germinate and open to the world. Many people think (I started believe them) that my mission is to use my creativity to think and to heal the world through my worlds, my melodies, my artworks, my recipes, etc. and if you are wondering how I became both an artist and an Engineer, then I invite you to read this.

« But it is only when I won the Stéphane Hessel award for my short story Tala Ngai on the rape of women in the Congo, that I decided to become a writer. »

Writing is my first passion. My mother says that I have been writing since I was 3 and that I started telling stories towards the end of the primary school. But it is only when I won the Stéphane Hessel award for my short story Tala Ngai on the rape of women in the Congo that I decided to become a writer. Since then, writing has a central position in my life. I have written for many magazines and literary reviews including Mr Afropolitan, Inspire Afrika, Afrolivresque, Stadsprachen, FU Review and so forth.

« Since the release of Rituals, I had the chance to be invited on many stages, in many countries to present my work and I finally had the courage to develop my other passions which are singing and cooking. »

In November 2008, I released my first musical and poetical album, and a poetical short-film entitled Rituals which tell my journey throughout myself, throughout my plural identities. You can listen Rituals here. Since the release of Rituals, I had the chance to be invited on many stages, in many countries to present my work and I finally had the courage to develop my other passions which are singing and cooking.

I need to make this website a reflection of my artistic vision, a focal point for sharing ideas, a living space. A family.
